Final Fantasy 15 Part 1 : King’s Glaive

I have decided to purchase the Final Fantasy 15(FF15) game. What I want from this game is a great storyline, something that I will remember like I did with FF7 and FF8 and then again FF9, also FF10. All of those were very good. My favorite being FF8. I know it was one of the least favorite ones for most. But for some reason that’s the one that I liked the most.

I want to be able to play this game and get far into it. Have conversations with the characters. Laugh at their jokes. Is that too much to ask from a game now a days. I don’t know. But that’s what I want.

When FF15 was announced, I was very excited, the team that was put on that project was very impressive to say the least. The scope of the project was enormous. Then they had a 3 hour reveal streamed live on YouTube. I watched the whole thing. Some of which was cringe worthy… But they tried.

The presentation of the world began much earlier than the game even came out. SquareEnix went all out for this. There was an anime series created specifically to give a background to each of the main characters.

And then there was an almost 2 hour cinematic created to give the player an idea as to what is going on in the world right now. What events caused the situation you are in. The cinematic is called King’s Glaive. It was highly recommended to watch it before starting the game. I did. It did not disappoint! The moment the cinematic ended I wanted to immediately jump into the game and see what happened to the prince while all of that was happening in Insomnia.

So now I am looking forward to jumping in and figuring out how I can punish the Empire for all their crimes against the peaceful city of Insomnia. I have a mission and a purpose in the game before I even began playing. That has never happened to me before FF15. Lets get to it.

I plan on streaming my play through of the games main storyline here: twitch.tv/kronicktv. The videos will then be archived on my youtube channel. I will write a review of the game and my feelings as I am playing through it. So stay tuned for the follow-up posts.
