First day of Battle for Azeroth

After 3 weeks of being excited for BFA and then promptly being let down by the pre-patch content, the launch day for the expansion is here! The first day of the BFA release has come and gone. I didn’t get into the game until later at night around 7:30pm PST so most of the initial bugs and server issues were long resolved by then. But after looking around the internet it sounds like the issues were minor anyways. Folks on Blizzardwatch.com are saying that these was one of the smoothest launches to date. Which is great for everyone involved.

For about 2 hours last night I ran around doing quests and soaking in the atmosphere of the game. My initial reaction has been a very positive one. I don’t know if my misgivings towards this expansion are going to haunt me through this expansion, but so far I think the content available to us know is awesome.

I started in Drustvar area, because I have read that this one will be the spooky themed area which is my favorite types of areas in WoW. Just an FYI my favorite area in the whole entire game is Duskwood. So you can see why I would naturally gravitate towards Drustvar. I was not disappointed, we immediately run into a town that has been cursed and now have to figure out why.

I won’t give away any of the plot, lets just say it was interesting.

I got a couple of quests for different areas on the map and of course got distracted by a quest that was at the very far corner of the map, so I have not completed any of the main quest line just yet. Just to mention this for the record, I am in no rush to complete the story at all, I want to enjoy every bit of it. My goal for this expansion is to stay as connected to the content the story and the new mechanics as possible, and if it takes me a year to do that and feel accomplished then that’s what I am going to do.

Having only 2 hours of play time I didn’t get a whole lot accomplished but what I have seen so far has been interesting and I can’t wait to get back into it tonight.
