My last post was in 2020, a little over 2 years ago. I wish I kept writing, but life took me completely away from almost everything. For a long time, I didn’t even play anything. So I decided to write this post as sort of an update for anyone still subscribed and wondering where I went and what happened.
In the last post on the site, I said 2020 was very tough, there were all sorts of complicated circumstances both in my personal and professional life.
During the two years, I was absent from posting, many changes have happened. One thing did stay the same and that is I am working from home still, however, where “home” is, has changed. In those two years, I moved states and I am much happier where I am than where I was.
Before being able to move I had to remodel my house and then sell it. Once sold it I had to find a new house in the new state to take my family to. All of this was an all-consuming endeavor. Once that was done I needed to find a new job that would allow me to work from home because my old job decided to bring everybody back to the office. I didn’t want to go back. I started my new job working remotely, it was an incredibly difficult project I only lasted about half a year and then started looking for something else. I was very fortunate to have found another job I have been at for almost a year. Still working from home doing what I love, helping people.
My whole lifestyle has changed since C19. My wife and I were able to start a little farm, we now have sheep, chickens, ducks, a cat, and a dog named Marco. There is a lot of snow here, as you can probably tell from the site’s title, is my favorite thing in the world. It brings me massive amounts of peace when I get to sit down by my fireplace and just watch the snow fall.
So there is that, a little update on my life, on to gaming.
What did I play in that time? Very little of anything. Every time I wanted to sit down and really get into something, there would always be something more pressing to take care of.
With that being said, when I did have time to play I played of Flight Simulators both the Microsoft version and X-Plane 11. I bought a lot of gear for it to make the experience a little more authentic and it was fantastic. I also played Elite: Dangerous, and finally got an Anaconda, a ship I always wanted and strived towards for years, so that was amazing. I know in one of my posts I said I wouldn’t play EvE Online anymore, I did end up going back in a running a few missions, it was awesome. Even though the subscription model they chose is awful and incredibly expensive.
Then I played the new expansion of WoW and that was terrible, never finished it. I have lost all hope and trust in Blizzard. It is now a disgrace of a company, and they broke my heart. The only good games from Blizzard are their old games. I played a little bit of Starcraft and Starcraft 2, I also played a bit of Warcraft 3, not the Reforged garbage but the original, because I still have the disks. That was fun. The most recent Blizzard-related thing that happened was the release of Wrath of the Lich King Classic. I played that for about a month. Still the best expansion in my mind. I had a lot of fun running through the old zones.
More recent than the Wrath Classic, I have played the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly mod, more specifically the G.A.M.M.A mod. It is a stand-alone mod that combined all of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R game’s locations into one game with a new storyline and a lot of new mechanics. I have always been a big fan of the atmosphere of the game and now the graphics have been improved significantly which made it so much easier to get immersed in the game. I am playing this still. There is so much to get through and I am taking it very slowly enjoying every last minute of it.
So what does the future hold for me and my blog? I don’t really know. I want to seriously get into writing short stories and maybe even a novel at some point, I don’t think I will have a lot of time to play, at least nowhere near the same amount that I used to.
On the personal side of life, in the near future, I want to start exploring the real world a lot more. I want to take my family camping, hiking, and fishing a lot more this year, so maybe this blog will move from being strictly game focused to more of my personal adventures whether virtual, real or invented by me in story format.
Ultimately I don’t know exactly, but I want to continue writing.
To conclude this, I want to sincerely thank all of you who have read my blog in the past and those of you that have not unsubscribed due to my long absence. You are all incredible people and I wish you all the blessings that you can possible receive from life.
See you next time! hopefully in less than two years… 🙂
