Plans for 2020

The first post of 2020! Wow we did it my friends, another year another set of goals. I thought I would write my first post this year about what goals I have for this year when it comes to gaming and just life in general.

I have decided to organize the post into 3 different sections: Stop Doing, Start Doing and Continue Doing.

I don’t know if those need to be explained, but hopefully once I start going through the list it becomes clear what I mean.

Stop Doing:

  1. I will stop playing EvE
  2. I will stop spending money on games I am never going to play

Start Doing:

  1. I will try to stream at least twice a week every week for a year
  2. I will try to read at least one book a month
  3. I will start working on the online classes I bought
  4. I would like to find an MMO I want to play long term
  5. I want to play through all of my Steam library at least once

Continue Doing:

  1. Continue writing once a week for the blog
  2. Continue playing video games
    1. World of Tanks
    2. Pokemon Sword
    3. JRPGs
  3. Continue pondering on whether I should write a book or not

Some of those don’t relate to gaming so much, but I still think it’s important to list those somewhere.

Other things I want to do is keep working out and keep my weight under control. I recently have gotten into chess and had a goal of getting to 1300 rating on lichess.org. This year I would like to continue to improve my chess skills and get to 1600 this year.

Another big one for me and not gaming related is I would like to at some point visit my country of birth, I haven’t been there in 22 years. There are some hurdles to overcome to get that done, so I am taking it slowly to do that.

Ultimately I think I found a pretty good balance of life and hobbies. So we will see how this year will turn out.

Hope it brings joy to all of us and sorrow passes us by.

The featured picture here, was a lot more prophetic for the year than the hopeful tone of the written content.
