Blaugust 2019 the results are in!

As the title states Blaugust 2019 is over and the results are in. I got an award for participating in it. I came in at bronze… Which isn’t as good as rainbow for example, but it’s better than last years… which was nothing, because I had no idea this event even existed.

What is Blaugust? Blaugust is a month long blogging event organized by Belghast at https://aggronaut.com and the event runs from the 1st of August to the 31st of August. The idea is to post as much as you can during that month, and once the month is over your posts are tallied up and then you get and award for whatever bucket you fall under. To read more about the details please go here. Mine as I mentioned is the Bronze award. A small note on that, I think I could have done better, had I not started half way through the event.

How did I find out about the event? It was on twitter that I learned about it, I follow a blogger named Syp who writes for massivelyop.com and on his own personal blog at https://biobreak.wordpress.com/. For some reason he started tweeting his posts with the #blaugust19 and so I wondered what that was and started looking it up. I learned it was an event for bloggers to get their motivation and creativity going again. So I thought what a great way to get someone like me to blog more and have the ability to share those blogs with like minded people.

It was an incredible experience to have some of those folks read my posts and leave likes and such on this blog. Eventually my blog got mentioned on the MassivelyOp.com as one of the blogs that participated in the WoW Classic extravaganza. Which again really helped with motivation for me because, the recognition of that fact that someone noticed my incredibly obscure blog felt very very good.

Sometimes when you are a small time blogger it does feel like you are in an empty room yelling at the walls. This was a really nice change. It really puts in perspective of how little it takes to make someone’s day. I bragged about the award and the mention, on massivelyop, to my wife. And it felt good to say things like I got mentioned on site I used to read even before they became MassivelyOP.

It was an incredibly fun event to participate in, the people were the nicest folks around, incredibly helpful. I found so many genuinely interesting blogs and bloggers with their own personalities and takes on games I love to play.

I would like to thank them all for the help and support, as well as reading my nonsense! Thank you so much.

I would love to return next year and shoot for the Rainbow award!

See you all around.
